EuroBasket 2025 - volunteer call

Join us as a volunteer and be a part of a great international basketball event. EuroBasket 2025 takes place in Tampere in August and September 2025.

The EuroBasket 2025 tournament will be played at the Nokia Arena in Tampere from 27.8. to 3.9.2025. The volunteer call is now open!

We are looking for volunteers to share our enthusiasm for making this international basketball event happen. Volunteer positions will run from 21 August to 5 September 2025. We appreciate a positive and flexible attitude and a customer service mindset. We offer unique experiences, a great team spirit and the opportunity to learn something new or build on your work experience. Volunteer positions are open to 18 years and older, unless the position specifically states an age limit of 15 years. There is no upper age limit, and everyone is welcome, regardless of age, background, life situation or work experience. 

What do volunteers do? 

Volunteer roles are available in a variety of areas, and each volunteer team has its own team leader. The team leader is responsible for assigning tasks and work shifts. 

Each volunteer is expected to commit to at least four shifts. We are looking for volunteers for the following positions: 

  • First aid and medical care (on-call nurses and doctors)  
  • Team hosts 
  • Referee and commissioner hosts  
  • Floor sweepers & ball-boys  
  • Service team  
  • Game recordings service 
  • Accreditation  
  • Catering and lounge  
  • Event office  
  • Transportation  
  • Construction and maintenance  
  • Sustainability  
  • Access control and security  
  • Communications and media services  
  • Event info on the venue and grandstands  
  • Hotel info desks 
  • Ticketing 
  • VIP and guest services

What do volunteers get? 

  • Great experiences and teamwork, new acquaintances and international work experience

  • Volunteer clothing and equipment package. (The local organizing committee will charge the taxable value of the package, according to the tax authorities' instructions, which will be refunded after the event if the volunteer does not wish to keep the package and returns it to the organiser.)

  • A public transport ticket for local bus and tram services 
  • Volunteer events and training sessions

  • Diploma for all and certificate of employment on request 
  • Opportunity to watch games from the volunteers' stand, if work shifts and assignments allow 

What is expected of a volunteer? 

  • Participation in volunteer training courses 
  • Commitment to at least four shifts 
  • Adherence to agreed guidelines, rules and agreements 
  • Working during the agreed shifts to the best of your ability 
  • Reliability, punctuality, initiative, can-do attitude
