Basketball Finland in English

Basketball Finland governs and develops basketball in Finland. The federation organizes competitions, supports clubs and players, educates coaches and referees, and enables participation at all levels. Its goal is to grow the sport, strengthen the basketball community, and create opportunities for success in Finland and internationally.

Starting a New Club

A member club of Basketball Finland is entitled to participate in official competitions and take part in the federation’s decision-making processes.

A registered association can apply for membership in Basketball Finland. Member clubs commit to following the federation’s operational, competition and disciplinary rules, as well as the regulations of the international organizations it belongs to.

How to apply

To become a member, please submit a membership application including the following:

  • Completed Basketball Finland membership application form
  • An extract from the Finnish Patent and Registration Office confirming the association’s registration
  • The association’s rules (bylaws)

Membership fee

The annual membership fee is €200. The fee is confirmed annually at the spring general assembly.
