The We deliver -fund is organizing an additional funding round to make basketball a possibility for Ukrainian children located in Finland due to war in their home country. The funding round is open from May 31st until June 15th, 2022.
– Some basketball clubs have already helped Ukrainian children by providing a basketball hobby free of charge. Basketball Finland wants to support its clubs, but most of all help the children of war fleeing families, by offering this additional funding round. With this we hope to assist integration to Finnish society even smoother, says Ari Tammivaara, Managing Director of Basketball Finland.
Differing from previous funding rounds, basketball clubs can now seek funding for Ukrainian children, and the funding will be offered directly to the clubs. The funding can be directed to cover for example Summer camp expenses or other fixed club fees. No specific tax information is needed, only a picture of a passport, other identification, or a document of asylum. The candidates/clubs will be contacted for further information if necessary.
The maximum funding grant per child is 250 euros.
The next We deliver -funding round will be organized during early Fall.
The We deliver -fund has helped disadvantaged families since 2018. In all, during nine funding rounds, the fund has passed out 645 grants and 188.309 euros to cover basketball related costs for disadvantaged families’ children.
